Located in one of Metro Manila’s tourist destinations, The SM Mall of Asia, Headway Vera SM MOA is a 100 sq.m salon with a simple yet fashionable ultra modern aesthetic.

This was Forenheit’s very first incursion into the commercial genre way back in 2011. The design team was commissioned by the client to redesign the Headway Brand’s interiors. The family owned corporation wanted to project an image of elegance but at the same time requested that the team focus on material alternatives that were both affordable and easy to maintain so that the design and methodology can be used in all their branches.

The goal was to achieve the simplicity that will bring about the desired style of the interiors. So to get this, the team used an all white aesthetic to attain a certain luminosity combined with deep red colored accents throughout the shop. The space was then divided into two distinct areas, the left being allocated for the women and the right side for the men. Curved and free flowing shapes were used which provided a fluid and relaxing ambience to both employees and customers. Lastly, the artificial lighting behind all the mirrors provided the best overall salon experience for the clients as the covelighting flattered their facial complexion and rendered colors more accurately, while also eliminating unnecessary shadows on their face.
